Problem and Solution
Do we need another Task Management App? This was one of the central question as i started thinking about Taskly. The Market Leaders Trello, Asana, Wunderlist, Basecamp, Evernote offer all well matured and professional Products and beside this the market is highly competitive.
A quick look in the appstore confirms that observation. There are numerous Task management apps. They all offer particular Features for different target groups, besides their core function creating Tasks and Projects however none of these are suited to the needs of Photographers.
Based upon my own experience as a Photographer and the feedback i received from my fellow peers i saw a niche within the market for an app aimed at photographers and their diverse duties through special functions and user-friendliness.
Based on the data i collected from the surveys and interviews, i created different personas. These personas would act as a guide to the design process.
Paper Prototypes helped visualize the app in a quick and easy way. The sketches present features in an efficient manner and in doing so effectively communicate the flow.
They can be tested and improved in fast iterations.
The final Paper prototypes were used to develop responsive low fidelity Wireframes. By adding interactivity with tools like Invision and testing our wireframes with real users we can gauge the usability of our design and proof the concept.
After visual research and creating a moodboard i was able to create a UI Kit with final designed components and a Styleguide that could be used as a reference across the team. As User Interviews showed earlier an appealing design is very important for taskly user target groups i decided for a modern and clean flat 2.0 approach.
